Fall Member Meeting on Wednesday, October 18 at 1:00-5:00 pm
The MSC Fall Member Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 18th at 1:00 – 5:00 pm. Meeting details can be found in ASPeN. An agenda will be added to the ASPeN event page as it is completed.
MSC Enterprise Dashboard is back up and running
After an upgrade to Google Analytics 4, the MSC Online Catalog dashboard is regularly updating again. Check out the Online Catalog dashboard here. Whether it is for your board report, quarterly statistics, collection development, or just plain curiosity, the Online Catalog dashboard will give you what you need.
By using the tabs across the top of the page you can get statistics for ‘Users’, ‘Page Views’, and ‘Search’. The default view shows statistics for all MSC member libraries, but you can use the ‘Library’ dropdown to limit to just your library.
Note this is a new URL so be sure to update any of your saved bookmarks!
Hotspot Assumed Lost Process
After reviewing feedback from the poll that went out a few weeks ago, MSC staff will be offering a separate Assumed Lost report for hotspots. For more information, please check out the Knowledge Base article: Circulation – Assumed Lost Guidelines: Hotspots.
Home Location Label Change for Enterprise
MSC staff will soon be updating how two home locations display in Enterprise to make them more uniform with existing policy standards. ‘JUVENILE’ will be changed from displaying as ‘Children’s Books’ to displaying as ‘Juvenile’ and ‘Childrens’ will be changed from displaying as ‘Children’s desk’ to display as ‘Children’s’.
If you have any questions or if you would like to start using one of these, please open a help desk ticket.
Updates to Detail Display for Enterprise
We have made the following two updates to the information a user sees when they click on a title from a search result list to view more information about that item:
-
For some libraries publication information would display if it was entered in a MARC 260 tag but would not display if it was entered in a 264 tag. We have made an update so that libraries who have publication information included in their detail display will now consistently see it.
-
Completing our update for sound recording content types, we have added that information to the detail display.
SmartPort Database Clean-Up
Cataloger Alert! Later this week you will see the databases listed in SmartPort limited to only OCLC and Library of Congress. The other listed databases are either outdated or the connection is no longer functional. If you have any questions, please open a help desk ticket.
Did You Know?
Did you know you can use the Mark Item Used wizard to track usage of items that do not circulate outside of your library, but are used by patron in-house. These materials may include reference, periodicals, or special collections.
By default this wizard is found in the 'Special' section of the Circulation module.
