Montana History Portal Highlights

We hope you are successfully managing back-to-school as cooler weather hits Montana. If you are stuck indoors with all the rain we've been having, we have a new batch of reading material for you, as well as a selection of new images - read more below!

Montana Woman Magazine

We have a fresh selection of back issues of Montana Woman Magazine, from the collections of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Montana. These issues cover a wide selection of dates, from the 1920s to the 2020s. There are now over 500 issues of this magazine available to read on the Montana History Portal, dating all the way back to 1919. We anticipate another batch in the near future - happy reading!

Smokejumper Photos

We have a new batch of imagery from the University of Montana Mansfield Library, focused on smokejumpers in the 1940s and 1950s. We have over 100 images now of these brave firefighters in action, you can check them out here.

The Montana History Portal provides weekly updates on new content as well as tips on how to successfully navigate the site through this Highlights newsletter. You can find back issues on the "Highlights" newsletter section of our website.
