Montana State Library Commission to Meet
(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library Commission will meet in Billings and on Zoom on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in conjunction with the 2023 Montana Library Association Conference. The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Chair Dalton Johnson of Missoula, Vice Chair Peggy Taylor of Whitefish, Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction; Patricia Dubosky, appointee of the commissioner of Higher Education; Tom Burnett of Bozeman, Tammy Hall of Bozeman, and Robyn Scribner of Geraldine.
During the April 12th meeting, the Commission will consider action on the consent agenda, Fiscal Year ’24 Montana Land Information Act Grant awards, Network Advisory Council membership nominations, and Excellent Library Services Award Resolution to recognize excellent performing libraries in Montana. The Commission will receive updates and reports about the Library Services and Technology Act Fiscal Year ’21, American Rescue Plan Act final impact and spending report, 2023 Legislative Session, State Library Awareness Campaign, and the State Library operations. The Commission will discuss the Strategic Framework measures of success and the State Library Commission’s bylaws and subcommittees.
The commissioners will meet for dinner at Walker’s Grill in Billings on April 12, 2023 at 6 pm. No business will be conducted.
While in Billings, the Commission will be hosting a session at the Montana Library Association Conference called “Conversations with the Commission” on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in the Skyview room at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel. This event is open to registered attendees of the Montana Library Association Conference, and no business will be conducted.
Members of the public who wish to share written comment or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp, no later than two (2) business days before the start of the public meetings.
