We have a huge new batch of images to share with you, from the collections of the Montana Historical Society. This collection of images now totals over 9000! The 361 new images cover a wide variety of topics. There are images of the driving of the Last Spike of the Northern Pacific Railroad at Gold Creek, Montana on September 8, 1883. One of these is shared below - a Crow Indian Council held at the spot. There are a number of images of industrial scale mining and smelting facilities under construction, as well as Montana schools. There are portraits of individuals, natural landscapes, and city scenes. These new images are a wonderful addition to one of the most popular collections on our site.
