System Updates
Executive Board Meeting Scheduled for March 1, 2:00-4:00 pm
The MSC Executive Board will meet online on March 1 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Meeting materials and the meeting link can be found in ASPeN.
Patron Removal Survey
Spring cleaning has come early to the MSC! We’re kicking things off with our annual patron removal survey. Please let us know if you do or don’t want to remove any users that have been long inactive. Fill out the survey by February 27!
Curious as to know how many patrons have been long inactive users? Check out our new BLUEcloud Analytics (BCA) report, ‘User Count by Last Activity Date- Yearly' in the Shared Reports>Users>Users Counts.
Auto-Renew Poll
Would you be interested in auto-renewal as an add-on service? The MSC could add the service for individual libraries. If implemented, users at your library would have their items renewed automatically before they become overdue. Only items that are already eligible for renewal would be included, so if an item is on hold or already has the maximum renewals it would not be renewed. Fill out the survey by clicking here: https://forms.office.com/g/BaFqatSiBW.
Please help us gauge interest and fill out the survey by March 15.
System Users
System users are accounts that can be used to check out items for internal library tracking – for reasons like repair, cataloging, missing, replace, storytime, etc. Any time you have items not on the shelf or with patrons and you want to keep track of where they’re at – system users are a great way to do that. These accounts have special user profiles so that items checked out to them don’t have due dates and they won’t show up in your overdue lists or get sent through Assumed Lost and they don’t get removed in the annual patron cleanup.
If you would like to utilize one or more system users, please open a help desk ticket to request them as the special user profiles don’t show up in your dropdown.
If you’ve already created user accounts like that for yourself and would like to have the user profile changed from one of your patron profiles to a system user profile to take advantage of the special configuration, please open a ticket and we can get those adjusted for you.
Enterprise Upgrade 5.1.0.6
An Enterprise upgrade is currently scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am. During this time, the site will be unavailable for patrons to use. A message will be displayed starting Wednesday, February 22 to inform users of its unavailability. Please open a help desk ticket if you have any questions!
2023 Closed Dates
If you have not shared your 2023 closed dates with us, it’s not too late. Without updated closed dates the system may incorrectly calculate item due dates. To avoid this from happening at your library, please open a ticket.
HTML Email Notices
The new HTML Email Notice format provides a more modern patron email notice for holds, overdue, bills, and more. Interested in more information, check out this great KB article “Circulation- HTML Email Notices”.
These notices will eventually replace the current Workflows notices and will function the exact same way. Jump ahead of the line by opening a ticket today with the subject line ‘HTML Notices.’
Communication Plan Reminder
Just a reminder to check out and comment on the Communication Plan document that was discussed at the Fall member meeting. Here is a direct link to the document located in the Community Forum section through our help desk. We hope you can take time to read the document and share your comments. If you have not yet set up an account with the help desk, we highly recommend it.
Did You Know?
You can request batch changes to add item prices for all your items that have zeros or even round up/down to the nearest dollar. This can make your collection value easier to look up and makes lost & damaged billing work more smoothly as well. Open a ticket to request this! |
