The 2022 Ready 2 Read Rendezvous Application is now available! Any Montana librarian who works with young children and families is encouraged to apply. All lodging, food, and workshop costs are covered by the State Library - attendees will cover transportation to the Rendezvous. Please see details below:
For any library interested in participating in Bat Week 2022, there is a webinar on August 18th, Thursday, from 11 - 12 pm that will go over the resources and materials available. Attendees will learn about:
- Bat Week packages, and how to request one
- A bat trunk that will be available for borrowing
- Other Bat Week educational materials that can be used for planning and programming

On August 26th from 10 - 11 am, I will be hosting an online webinar to talk about the new trunk lending program at the State Library. The trunks are ones that the State Library has helped create in the past so you will probably be familiar with the activities and content, but the lending process is new. The webinar is open and free to all, and the trunks will be available to anyone, not just libraries, so feel free to share with community partners as well. The Reimagining School Readiness Toolkit training is a 2-part virtual workshop that is best suited for any Montana librarian who works with families and young children (aged 0 - 8). The first session on November 2nd, Wednesday from 1 - 3 pm, and the second session on November 9th, Wednesday from 1 - 3 pm. You must attend both sessions. Librarians are encouraged to share this training with community partners, particularly those who work with children. Please see the application link below:
Reimagining School Readiness Training - Application Form
Learning outcomes and expectations are described in the application form. All attendees will receive a package of free materials that can be used with children's services.
These trainings qualify for both MSL credit, and OPI credit. Certificates of attendance are also available upon request. If you have any questions, please contact Amelea Kim at akim@mt.gov.
