John J. Powers, Safety Poster Collection
The World Museum of Mining currently houses over 200 of John J. Powers’ screen prints. These screen prints were developed as safety posters for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company (ACM) in Butte, Montana throughout the 1960s and 1970s. This collection of prints is a stunning representation of safety procedures and examples, both of men’s actions mining underground and taking part in everyday life above.
