The Montana Memory Project (MMP) continues to provide information on ways to successfully use the new site through this Highlights newsletter and the Highlights section on the home page.
Library and museum staff members are encouraged to share these with patrons by adding these ideas to your website and sharing through social media outlets.

Help Us Build Our Yearbook Collection
The Montana Memory Projects hosts almost 2,200 digitized yearbooks on our website, contributed by 36 different organizations. These include both high school and college publications, with volumes dating back well over 100 years. Yearbooks are a crucial tool for genealogists and family researchers. They provide a snapshot into the life of a community at a particular moment in time. And it is also fun to browse through them and look at the strange fashions and hairstyles that have come and gone!
But 2,200 is not enough - we need more. There are hundreds of schools in Montana, as well as many that no longer exist. Each has a story to tell. Does your community have yearbooks hosted on the MMP? If not, contact your local school or library and let them know that MMP can help them find a path to digitizing their yearbooks and hosting them online in our searchable repository.

Last summer, we migrated the Montana Memory Project website to a new platform, powered by Recollect. This platform has powerful tools for building and organizing content, as well as for searching and sharing.
