MMP Engagement Ideas

Library staff members are encouraged to share the following ideas with patrons. Please consider adding these ideas to your website or sharing through your social media outlets.

The Montana Memory Project (MMP) is promoting ways for the public to engage with our free, online, archival content. This initiative can be viewed on our new MMP Engagement Activities page which will be updated regularly.

These activities can be done on a phone, tablet, personal computer. Families and groups can even share a device screen to a compatible television screen so the whole room can enjoy.

The end of the school year means graduation time for many students. In the MMP most graduation photos are from Montana's colleges and universities. Try searching the Photographs collection for "commencement" or "graduation" to see them.

Not everyone went to college, so earlier school achievements were also celebrated, such as 8th grade and high school. There aren't as many individual photos of those in the MMP. The best way to see high school classes is by looking at school yearbooks.

The MMP has a collection of yearbooks from universities, colleges, and high schools from Anaconda to Wheatland County. You can look through page by page to see faculty and staff, each class and activities.

Can you find your parents or other relatives? Are the activities the same as those at your school today?

Get your memes ready! The second annual MMP Meme-ory Contest is open. Check out the rules and information, pick your photos from the link of possibilities (there are over 2800 photos - plenty to choose from!) and submit by the May 28, 2021 deadline. There are 1st and 2nd place prizes for all three age groups.
