Library staff members are encouraged to share the following ideas with patrons. Please consider adding these ideas to your website or sharing through your social media outlets.
The Montana Memory Project (MMP) is promoting ways for the public to engage with our free, online, archival content. This initiative can be viewed on our new MMP Engagement Activities page which will be updated regularly.
These activities can be done on a phone, tablet, personal computer. Families and groups can even share a device screen to a compatible television screen so the whole room can enjoy.

Did you know May is Military Appreciation Month? Montanans have a long history of military service, and there are lots of photos in the MMP, from the late 1800's to World War II. African American and Native American soldiers also served. Search "military" in the Photograph collection to see all the photos - maybe you'll find a relative's picture? |
|
If you know a relative served in the military you can search the Military Enlistment Cards to find them. There are collections for pre-1918, World War I and World War II. Search by last name to learn more about any individual: age when they enlisted, where they served, the rank they achieved and more. |

Here's an example of an entry from last year. There are plenty of photos to choose from - get creative and have fun!

Reminder: the MMP is getting ready to move to a new platform next month. Staff is busy moving all the content and collections - keep watching for information about the new site! |
