After completing one Request for Information (RFI) and two Requests for Purchase (RFP), the Montana Memory Project has signed a new contract with Recollect.
Reach out and empower your community or stakeholders with the Recollect cloud-based platform. Build your identity, enrich your collections, capture, and manage new content, as well as discuss new ideas from anywhere in the world.
While CONTENTdm has worked well for us, the MMP has outgrown this platform and our needs have changed. Recollect offers many ways for our patrons to discover and engage with the MMP materials and gives us powerful tools to manage the system.
We will be going through the process of migrating the 180 current collections and adding many new collections this spring. The MMP will be rolling out the new site by June 30, 2021. During this process we may need your help in answering questions and testing various features. We will also seek input on the user interface.
In preparation for this change, we must stop adding new content to the MMP through CONTENTdm. The last date to make any changes in the CONTENTdm platform will be March 12, 2021. After March 12 all contributors permissions will be changed and access to the collections through the Project Client will be revoked so we don't miss any updates contributors might make. This will give us an opportunity to approve any lingering items in the CDM system, create file backups, and to download all existing metadata, knowing this snapshot of information will not change. This might seem like a minor step but any changes to the CDM source data will force us to restart the entire migration process. The current content will all still be available on our website.
Thanks for your understanding during this transition. We will make announcements about when we are ready to start adding new content to Recollect. We understand this may delay projects by a few months, but we think the wait will be worth it.
As always, be sure to let me know if you have questions or concerns.
