2027 Changes to the State Plan Effective January 1, 2027
Beginning January 1, 2027, employees and their families will see changes to monthly contributions and out-of-pocket costs.
These changes are needed to respond to higher use of health care services, increased prevalence of chronic conditions, and a growing number of high-cost claims. Healthcare costs are projected to increase at nearly double-digit rates for the fourth consecutive year in 2027.
The memo linked below provides details about the 2027 changes, including:
- Monthly contributions for employees working 30 or more hours per week;
- Monthly contributions for employees working 20-29 hours per week;
- Medical plan cost-sharing changes, including the deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, and certain copayments;
- Pharmacy plan cost-sharing changes and pharmacy out-of-pocket maximums; and
- Other benefit plan information, including benefits and rates that will remain unchanged in 2027.
The State Plan’s Open Enrollment for 2027 will occur October 21 – November 7, 2026. Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review benefit elections and change plans or covered dependents. Watch for Open Enrollment information in early October. No action is needed at this time.
