Dear Rural Health Partner:
The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a qualified contractor to coordinate and deliver statewide technical assistance for implementation of the Montana Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) under the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).
The statewide establishment of CHAP will expand culturally responsive primary, behavioral, and oral health services in tribal communities and strengthen locally driven health workforces. This will include:
- Creating education pathways for community health aides, behavioral health aides, and dental health aides
- Assisting in the establishment of the Billings Area Certification Board (BACB) infrastructure
- Integrating new health care services into tribal health systems
Implementation requires coordinated expertise across clinical operations, education, certification, workforce development, Medicaid, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and DPHHS reporting data, and sustainability.
The selected contractor will provide specialized hands-on support to stakeholders, Tribal Nations, tribal health organizations, the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council, the BACB, the Montana Tribal Colleges Association, participating tribal colleges and universities, DPHHS, and other designated partners through Sept. 30, 2030.
