Dear Rural Health Partner:
The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS), as a part of the Innovative Care Models initiative of the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), has issued a request for proposal (RFP) from stakeholders related to a Statewide Emergency Medical Dispatch System (EMDS).
Thirty-five Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across Montana currently rely on a state-sponsored emergency medical dispatch platform. Because this system will soon be obsolete and require replacement and modernization, the state is preparing for a new solution. While the state houses 58 total PSAPs, the final vendor scope will depend on how many local centers elect to participate in the upgraded system.
The state seeks proposals from qualified vendors to provide a statewide EMDS solution and related services that support RHTP outcomes, improve the consistency and quality of emergency medical dispatch, and provide scalable deployment options for Montana PSAPs.
This procurement is intended to result in a single contract for software, implementation, integration, training, support, maintenance, and related services, subject to the terms of the RFP and available funding.
