DPHHS Public Health and Safety Division Maintain Top-Tier National Accreditation

  • The Montana Public Health and Safety Division (PHSD) has secured a renewed, five-year national accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). This reaccreditation demonstrates the division's commitment to high-quality public health standards and improving the health of all Montanans.
  • PHAB accreditation program helps governmental public health departments improve the quality of their services and performance. This renewal reinforces PHSD’s long-term commitment to continuous improvement, guided by a data-driven approach.
  • PHSD engages local and tribal communities through the State Health Assessment (SHA) to gather vital input that informs the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP). These assessments help guide future public health programs and create a strategic plan for addressing identified needs.
