What a beautiful day in Montana, as spring takes hold of May and we move closer and closer to the warmer months. It occurs to me that mental health issues don’t really have a season—for some, they may be temporary; for others, a lifelong struggle.
The American Psychiatric Association Foundation published an article highlighting how faith leaders are often the first point of contact for community members facing mental health challenges: https://www.apaf.org/faith. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read this insightful piece about the role of faith in mental health, presented from a non-religious perspective.
Next week, the Office of Faith and Community-Based Services, in partnership with Tony Cloud Communications, will host two seminars—one in Bozeman on May 6 and another in Billings on May 8. Additional events are planned for Helena and Missoula in September. These seminars focus on empowering people of faith to support those experiencing mental health challenges.
