All staff, who are paid with WIC funds, must complete a time study for April. Time reporting must be tracked in the following four categories: Nutrition Education, Breastfeeding Promotion, Client Services, and General Administration. Staff time must be submitted on that month’s expenditure report.
This is a federal mandate that we submit for monthly reporting. Expenditure reports will not be processed without time study information for required months: January, April, July and October. If you have any questions or need the tracking spreadsheet, please email Lori.Reed@mt.gov.

Produce mapping is a function within grocery stores point of sale systems that connects a full-length barcode number on packaged fresh produce to a 4-digit PLU code on the WIC approved produce list (APL). This ensures fresh produce will ring up for WIC customers. The State Office has added a new resource to help staff and stores understand the requirements of produce mapping. Please review, and consider mapping when cardholders report fresh fruits and vegetables are not ringing up, and when working with stores.

It’s that time of the year again! We are asking for your feedback to our State WIC office via the annual Customer Service Survey. This survey provides valuable feedback to the State WIC office to help ensure that we are meeting the needs of our local agencies. In the past this feedback has helped us justify funding increases, technology advancements and so much more.
The survey can be completed by all staff members at our local agencies and is completely anonymous. We will have the survey available for the next couple of months and will send out reminders via our weekly newsletter.
