Holiday Decorating Safety

  • 'Tis the season to be jolly . . . . and safe! Holiday decorations make the season festive and bright but can also pose fire risk; make sure to decorate your house safely this season.
  • On average, about 160 decorating-related injuries occur while decking the halls each day during the holiday season; practice ladder safety and keep the floor clear of clutter.
  • Santa Claus is coming to town, but be aware that children can be attracted to decorations that may pose danger, such as candles, ornaments, and poisonous plants. Avoid safety hazards or recalled items when giving gifts to children.
