Holiday Driving Safety

Health in the 406

Holiday Driving Safety

  • ‘Tis the season for winter road conditions, so make sure to prepare your vehicle for winter by getting a tune up, checking your tires, and having an emergency survival kit.
  • Before heading out for holiday travel, call 511 or visit the MDT Travel page or app to check on road conditions, and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.
  • Don’t crowd the plow – make sure to maintain a safe distance behind snowplows. Slow down, be patient, and wait for the driver to pull over when it’s safe.  Never pass through a white out.
