National Nutrition Awareness Month

Health in the 406

National Nutrition Awareness Month

  • Good nutrition is important for everyone, but if you have diabetes, making healthy food choices can help you manage your blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
  • March is National Nutrition Month. Time to “Personalize Your Plate,” and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics encourages you to eat a variety of nutritious foods every day, plan your meals each week, and learn the skills to prepare tasty and healthful meals that will help you manage your diabetes.
  • A Registered Dietitian or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist can help you tailor a healthful eating plan that fits your life and will help you meet your diabetes and health goals. Ask your health care provider for a referral to a dietitian
