MDT Civil 3D State Kit - Version 2.1.0
MDT Civil 3D State Kit version 2.1.0 has been released. Please refer to the MDT State Kit Updater to install this at your earliest convenience. This update includes high priority updates and bug fixes concerning subassemblies/assemblies, earthworks workflow, excel manager, and survey enhancements.
You'll find informative details of every update using the "What's New" button on the MDT State Kit Updater or on the MDT Design ribbon within Civil 3D. Some of the more significant changes are noted below.
Creation of Blocks, Layers, and Styles for Earthworks Workflow
MDT Earthworks workflow has been adjusted to have new blocks, layers, and styles. These adjustments have been made to assist in the earthworks creation process for mass diagrams, volume reports, and other material lists. Process and procedure guidance will be released in the near future.
Excel Manager and Speed Sheet Creation Workflow
The MDT Excel Manager tool has been refurbished to assist with linking Excel data in Civil 3D as OLE objects. This tool was previously used with the Bentley toolset and commonly referred to as the QMG (Quantity Manager). Significant enhancements include:
- Selection of Road Design Summary, Hydraulic Design Summary, or R/W Ownership libraries to add forms from.
- Use of Arial fonts in the libraries.
- Placement functionality to the Civil 3D model with use of a speed sheet.
- Suppression of comment indicators being forced on.
The MDTHY_Summary.dwt, MDTRD_Summary.dwt, and MDTRW_Ownership.dwt. speed sheet templates allow for objects to be placed in model space with OLE object sizing controlled by the preset MSOLESCALE variable. This mitigates the need for post-placement resizing of text. “MDT Excel Manager Startup Guide” and “Road Design MDT Excel Manager Help Guide” are available for further information.
Subassembly Parameter Reference Surface Intersect Preference
MDT SlopeToSurface subassembly was updated to be able to use the parameter reference to set an integer value for slope intercept. Setting the integer for slope intercept means that a designer can define a target on existing surface based on how many times the cut or fill slope intersects with the surface.
Survey Enhancements
Enhancements to the survey database were adjusted to create efficiencies in survey queries, point description keys, and figure prefix databases. These adjustments were created with specific figures and points for projections on cross sections. Process and procedure documentation will be released in the near future.
Survey symbols were revised to be annotative when placed as blocks to correct scale for viewing throughout all workflow processes.
