Montana Noxious Weed
Awareness Week - June 8
Education is one of the most important aspects of noxious weed management. Invasive species are often spread through human actions. Engaging with people who recreate, work, and live in Montana is critical to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species, and in particular invasive plants.
The Montana Noxious Weed Education Campaign (MNWEC) was formed in 1996. Their mission is to “educate the people of Montana about the economic and environmental impacts of noxious weeds, while encouraging public participation in ecologically based integrated weed management.”
Humans are the number one way that noxious weeds are introduced. Do your part to stop their spread by always cleaning your gear before and after you recreate and help keep Montana beautiful!
