Montana Invasive Species Council meets December 2, releases accomplishments report
HELENA, Mont — The Montana Invasive Species Council (MISC) will hold its next meeting Wednesday, December 2, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm virtually via zoom.Click here for the agenda.
MISC members will hear updates on feral swine, the 2020 aquatic invasive species season, and education and outreach activities. Other agenda items include MISC program updates on sponsorship for the North American Invasive Species Management Conference, preparation for the 2021 Legislative Session, and the Eastern Heath Snail Science Advisory Panel, which is wrapping up with panel sessions the week of December 7, 2020.
MISC is also pleased to announce its FY20 (June 1, 2019-June 30, 2020) accomplishments report. In FY20, MISC continued its work to implement the tasks and objectives outlined by stakeholders in the Montana Invasive Species Framework. Accomplishments include implementation of the 2018 Law Review findings, hosting a Feral Swine Summit and launching the Squeal on Pigs campaign, and conducting a third science advisory panel. MISC is a statewide partnership working to protect Montana’s economy, natural resources and public health through a coordinated approach to combat invasive species.
