Montana Invasive Species Council Meets September 3
HELENA, Mont — The Montana Invasive Species Council (MISC) will hold its next meeting Thursday, September 3, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm virtually via zoom.
MISC members will review final expenditures for fiscal year 2020 and vote on budget allocations for the current fiscal year. The budget topic will include a discussion about how to deliver invasive species education and outreach in light of Covid-19, travel restrictions, and events taking place virtually. The Council will also review and take action on the final version of All-Taxa Rapid Response Guidelines that serve as a blueprint for developing species-specific response guidelines.
Presentations from program leads will be provided for feral swine, white-nose syndrome, aquatic invasive species, and terrestrial weeds. Other agenda items include MISC program updates on MISC sponsorship for the North American Invasive Species Management Conference and the Eastern Heath Snail Science Advisory Panel.
MISC is a statewide partnership working to protect Montana’s economy, natural resources and public health through a coordinated approach to combat invasive species.
