As we enter the Spring season, construction season is soon to follow and Ward 10 has many upcoming construction projects. Some projects will be speedy and done before you know it, others not so much. While we welcome positive changes to the ward, it is crucial that residents’ voices and concerns are heard during the process and are reflected in the project designs. I encourage you all to take some time to go through each project and share how you interact with these streets on a daily basis.

The Pillsbury Ave S Bridge will be seeing construction begin the week of April 6th, with substantial completion expected by December 2026. The project team will keep the community informed throughout construction using several communication methods, including a GovDelivery newsletter, advance signage, updates to the project website, and direct emails to key stakeholders.
As part of early project activities, the contractor will be reaching out to adjacent property owners to conduct pre-construction condition surveys and provide details about building vibration monitoring. This outreach is anticipated to begin today, March 30, 2026.
They will also be hosting their first pre-construction meeting today, Monday, March 30, 4:00 pm via Microsoft Teams where they will go over project details.

 Resurfacing Project Map
The northeast side of Whittier will be seeing their streets resurfaced. Early mid-March letters notifying residents of the upcoming work were sent out. This work is part of an on-going Public Works street improvement project to extend the life of our streets. The work will include laying a new layer of asphalt and certain streets receiving curb and gutter replacements.
Tomorrow, March 31st at 6pm virtually, the project team will be meeting to answer any questions or concerns residents impacted by this work may have.
You can find the meeting link on the project’s webpage under the virtual meeting information section tab, which I have linked below.

We finally have an update on the Lyndale Ave project! After so many community members expressed their concerns with their first proposed Lyndale Ave design, Hennepin County has taken that feedback and went back to the drawing board. They have now come back with an updated design and are currently open for additional feedback. You can submit comments through April 24th using their interactive map as you look over the details of the revised design.
