March 27, 2026 (MINNEAPOLIS) –Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that an early morning shooting injured two men and killed another.
Third Precinct Officers responded to a reported shooting near Chicago Avenue and Franklin Avenue East shortly after 12:30 a.m. on March 27, 2026.
When they arrived, they found three men who had been shot. Officers immediately began providing lifesaving aid. Two men, one in his 40s and one in his 50s, were taken to Hennepin Healthcare by ambulance. A third man died at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates the men were on a sidewalk when at least one person opened fire before fleeing in a vehicle.
Officers secured the area while investigators and forensic scientists processed the scene. The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine what led up to the shooting.
“This is a tragic and deeply disturbing act of violence that has taken a life, and left others seriously injured,” said Chief O’Hara. “This kind of violence is unacceptable, and we are committed to identifying those responsible and holding them accountable.”
