Dear neighbor,
I am concerned about the comments made by JD Vance about immigration enforcement going door to door. I want to let you know that you have rights that you can exercise to protect yourself and your family. According to our partners:
- You have the right to stay silent and to talk with a lawyer.
- You can refuse to sign documents until you talk to a lawyer.
- You have the right to not open the door unless you see a valid judicial warrant. It must have your correct address and name and be signed by a judge.
Please be safe. There is already a number of neighbors who have been kidnapped by ICE this morning. We still need community observers and patrollers to alert neighbors about immigration enforcement.
