September 23, 2025 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that Trayveion Alvin Green, age 24, has been arrested and charged for the August 26th mass shooting that injured 6 people and killed one man.
On August 26th, 2025, just before 1:30 p.m., Third Precinct officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire on the 2900 block of Clinton Avenue. Near the intersection of E 29th Street and Clinton Avenue, officers located a man who had died from gunshot wounds and another man with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds. Four other injured men and one injured woman were found at locations along Lake Street
On September 22nd at approximately 10:45 p.m., Minneapolis Police Officers working near the 600 block of 1st Avenue N located Trayveion Green who had an arrest warrant for murder. They arrested him without incident and booked him into the Hennepin County Jail. He has been charged with seven counts of Murder - 2nd Degree - With Intent-Not Premeditated.
Trayveion Green is the third person to be charged in connection with this shooting. Ryan Timothy Quinn and Tiffany Lynn Marie Martindale were arrested on August 26th and were charged with Aiding an Offender on Probation/Parole/Sup Rel-A&D Order Issued (609.495.1(b)) on August 29th.
“These arrests underscore the professionalism and relentless dedication of our highly skilled investigators,” said Chief O’Hara. “This mass shooting outside an occupied school had a chilling impact on our entire community, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this investigation. We hope that bringing this shooter in to be held accountable for his actions will begin to provide a sense of justice for the victims and their families.”

Minneapolis Police are Investigating Shooting that Injured Six and Killed One
August 26, 2025 (MINNEAPOLIS) – Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced the tragic and alarming shooting of 7 individuals today.
Just before 1:30 p.m., Third Precinct officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire on the 2900 block of Clinton Avenue. Near the intersection of E 29th Street and Clinton Avenue, officers located a man who had died from gunshot wounds and another man with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds. Four other injured men and one injured woman were found at locations along Lake Street, approximately one or two blocks away. The five men and one woman who were injured by gunfire were transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital. All are expected to survive their injuries.
Preliminary information indicates that a man stepped out of a vehicle and fired an estimated 30 rounds from a high-velocity .223 rifle at a group gathered on the sidewalk along Clinton Ave before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.
The fatally wounded man and one injured man were located at the original shooting scene, while the four other men and one woman fled on foot towards Lake St for safety.
MPD is investigating to determine the sequence of events that led up to the shooting. Thanks to the swift and coordinated response of Minneapolis Police officers, investigators are pursuing strong leads.
MPD Forensic Scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.
“The level of firepower unleashed in broad daylight on a city street is sickening and completely unacceptable,” said Chief O’Hara. "Our thoughts are for the victim who lost his life, with those who are now fighting to recover from their injuries, and with the families and community members who are forever impacted by this violence. As your police department, we remain steadfast in our mission to reduce serious crime while rebuilding trust with the people we serve. We will continue to fight every single day to make every block in this city safe for every resident and every family. But we cannot do this work alone. We need our community’s help, and we are urging anyone with information about this shooting to please come forward—anonymously if necessary—so that together, we can hold those responsible accountable and prevent further harm.”
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased man along with the official cause and manner of death.
No arrests have been made.
