Hello neighbors,

On Wednesday night I had the opportunity to speak at a Renter's Rights forum that was put together by 9 Northeast neighborhood associations. This is another example of the benefits from increased collaboration by all of our neighborhood orgs. It was a great conversation that also included State Senator Doron Clark, staff from our Regulatory Services Department, and advocacy organizations. 54% of Minneapolis households are renters, and I greatly appreciate all these neighborhood associations making sure renters are better educated on their rights and resources that exist!

New payment options for City utility bills

You now have more ways to manage your City utility bills. A new bill payment service has added Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal as options with easy signup and a mobile-friendly design.

The new features also include autopay, payment reminders and secure one-time payments.

Whether you prefer auto pays or one-time payments, the upgraded system makes it easier than ever to stay on top of your account.

Johnson St. NE green infrastructure restoration

Work is underway on the Johnson St Infrastructure (GI) Restoration project, which include the boulevards along Johnson Street NE between 18th Avenue and Lowry Avenue.

The City’s contractor started on Monday, June 16th, and will be finished by Friday, July 11th. During the work, Johnson St will remain open to traffic, however the sidewalk/bike trail will be closed on the side of the street where the work is occurring.

St Anthony Parkway Streetlight Update

The City of Minneapolis is working on repairing streetlight outages that have been cause by copper wire theft. Currently, St Anthony Parkway streetlights are in the process of being repaired and should be fixed soon.

Drinking water quality report

Every year, the City publishes an annual report showing water quality test results, the steps we take to make our water safe, and tips for wise water use. The 2024 report is now out.

Minneapolis treats and delivers more than 57 million gallons of world class drinking water every day.

311 open during Pride and Taste of Minnesota

The 311 Call Center will be open to take calls during the Twin Cities Pride Festival and Taste of Minnesota. You’ll be able to call 311 or 612-673-3000 for non-emergency assistance and to report issues to the City.

311 is answering phone calls:

• 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29
• 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6

Event: 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act

Join in a public event honoring 35 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Share your story, watch a documentary and panel, and see the disability pride flag unveiling.

Signed into law July 26, 1990, the ADA is a critical civil rights law for people with disabilities. The law bans discrimination in all aspects of public life. This includes discrimination in City programs, services and buildings.

This anniversary celebration honors the importance of this law and the local leaders who have improved countless lives in and around the city. The City recognizes the important role the ADA plays in making life more accessible for people in Minneapolis.
