Minneapolis Police are Investigating the Shooting Death of a Man

April 28, 2025 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that a man died at the hospital after being shot in south Minneapolis. 

On April 27, 2025, at approximately 11:40 p.m., 3rd Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting.  Minneapolis Fire and Hennepin EMS initially responded to the report of a person down on the ground near 29th St E and Clinton Ave S.   They requested MPD after determining that the man had been shot.  The man was transported to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital where he later died. 

MPD investigators are working to determine the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. 

No arrests have been made.

“In cases like this, we need someone to speak on behalf of the deceased. Even the smallest detail could be crucial as our investigators work to determine what happened to this man.”

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased man along with the cause and manner of his death.
