Minneapolis Police Investigating Fatal Shooting
February 7, 2025 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said today that the Minneapolis Police Department is actively investigating the shooting death of a 31-year-old man.
On February 6, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m 8:50 p.m., officers from the 3rd Precinct responded to a shooting on the 2400 block of 18th Ave S. Officers located the man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered medical aid before the victim was transported to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital. Despite all life-saving efforts, the man died at the hospital.
Preliminary information shows that shots were fired at close range. A group of 3-4 people in the area fled the scene on foot.
MPD officers canvassed the area, but no arrests have been made at this time. MPD Forensic Scientists processed the scene and collected evidence. Investigators are now working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
"This shooting, which occurred at close range, is especially troubling," said Chief O’Hara. "Our investigators are working to identify those responsible. I urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist our efforts in seeking justice for the victim."
