Minneapolis Elections and Voter Services expands voting hours and locations

All Minneapolis voters can vote early for the next two weeks

October 21, 2024 (MINNEAPOLIS) With Election Day just two weeks from tomorrow, Elections & Voter Services is offering additional voting hours and opening up additional early voting sites beginning tomorrow. Anyone who can vote in Minneapolis on Election Day can vote early at the Early Vote Center, 980 E Hennepin Ave. or any of these additional sites.

Early Vote Center

The main Early Vote Center at 980 E Hennepin is open extended hours, including weekends, now through 5 p.m. on Monday, November 4th (the day before Election Day):

Additional Early Voting Sites

Elections & Voter Services will be opening two additional sites, with the same hours as the main location, beginning tomorrow, October 22.  These locations are:

  • Urban League Twin Cities – 2100 Plymouth Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411
  • Bethel Lutheran Church – 4120 17th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407

Pop-Up Voting Sites

  • A 2023 legislative change now allows for alternate voting sites that are open for differing hours and days than the main site.  This has allowed Elections & Voter Services to host one day pop-up style voting events.
  • These pop-up sites feature the same security measures, rules, and processes as the main site, just with flexibility for an array of alternate early voting locations across our City.

  • There is still time to request a vote-by-mail ballot.  Individuals interested in voting by mail can request a ballot at mnvotes.gov/absentee.
  • Plan ahead – if you anticipate returning your mail ballot via the US Postal Service, you should put your ballot in the return mail by Oct 29.
  • You may also return your mail ballot by dropping it off at Elections and Voter Services at 980 E Hennepin and the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 S 6th St – skyway level or 625 4th Avenue South drive-through during voting hours, at any of the Early Voting sites during voting hours, or on the individual days of pop-up voting only during the times/dates listed above.
  • On Election Day, ballots can only be dropped off to Minneapolis Elections at 980 E Hennepin and the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 S 6th St – skyway level and they must be received by 8 p.m. in order to count.  They may not be returned to individual polling places on Election Day.
