The suspect was arrested at approximately 7:00 p.m. during a traffic stop on the 1800 block of Lowry Av N.  He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail for Assault 2, discharge of a weapon, and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

This incident occurred the night of September 5th, 2024, on the 2600 block of Russell Ave N.  A verbal argument between residents of a shelter for women and children and individuals from at least one residence on the same block escalated to physical violence.  During the altercation, at least one person was assaulted, and a vehicle was damaged by gunfire.

“As I indicated yesterday, our investigators continued to follow the evidence and another arrest has occurred.  I am thankful for the investigators who labored to identify this suspect and for broadcasting the information department wide.  Through a coordinated effort, officers were able to locate and arrest this individual without incident. This case remains open and active, and, as I said yesterday, I am confident this investigation will continue to its logical conclusion, and so, further arrests may still occur.
