September 5, 2024 (MINNEAPOLIS) At approximately 11:48 p.m. on September 4, First Precinct Officers responded to a shooting on the 1500 block of Portland Av S and located an adult man outside on a sidewalk with life-threatening-gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate medical aid until relieved by EMS. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the injured man died at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that there may have been an argument before the shooting occurred. A possible suspect left the scene on foot.
Officers secured the scene and canvassed the area.
MPD Forensic Scientists responded to process the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led up to the shooting.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name along with the cause and manner of death.
