August 24, 2024 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara has been elected Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the country's preeminent independent research organization that addresses critical issues in policing.
"I’m honored to join a board of directors that is made up of some of the most respected law enforcement leaders in the country,” O’Hara said. "I’m excited to help lead an organization that focuses on research-based solutions to many of the policing profession’s most complex and challenging issues. I’m confident my role on PERF’s Board will only benefit our department and the residents we serve in Minneapolis."
The results of the nominations and elections process were announced to the PERF membership last week. PERF, based in Washington, D.C., has more than 3,000 members.
“We are very pleased that Chief O’Hara has joined the board of directors of the Police Executive Research Forum, “said PERF’s Executive Director Chuck Wexler. “His experience in bringing progressive policing policies to Minneapolis align with the work of PERF. Chief O’Hara brings energy and determination to make a difference in the national conversation about policing.”

- Chief Kathy Lester, Sacramento, California Police Department, Vice President
- Commissioner Robert Tracy, St. Louis, Missouri Police Department, Member-At-Large
- Chief Ana Lalley, Elgin, Illinois Police Department, Member-At-Large
- Chief Johnny Jennings, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Member-At-Large
- Chief Constable Adam Palmer, Vancouver Police Department, Ex-Officio Member
