July 15, 2024 (Minneapolis): Chief Brian O’Hara said that on July 14th, 2024 at approximately 945 pm, Officers from the 2nd Precinct responded to reports of a shooting in the 2500 block of Central Ave NE. Upon arrival, officers located one adult male suffering from apparent life-threatening gunshot wounds on the ground. Officers provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The male was transported to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital where he later died.
A vehicle which had left the scene was located near 4th St SE/Central Ave. An adult male and adult female suffering from apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds were inside the vehicle. They were transported to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital by EMS.
Preliminary information indicates there was an altercation between several individuals who were known to each other when shots were fired and three people were struck.
Officers secured the scene and canvased the area.
Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence.
Minneapolis investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Two adult females were arrested in connection with this incident. They were both booked in Hennepin County Jail.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased male’s name and the cause and manner of death.
