April 29, 2024 (Minneapolis): Shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Minneapolis Police Department officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle rollover crash near Dowling Ave. N and the exit ramp from eastbound Interstate Highway 94.
At the scene, officers located a Toyota RAV4 with severe damage leaning on its side against a telephone pole. Three injured women were on the ground outside the vehicle when police arrived, apparently ejected during the crash. Another woman was partially ejected through the windshield and a fifth woman was trapped inside the vehicle. Police officers performed life-saving measures until relieved by Minneapolis firefighters and emergency medical services. Three of the women suffered apparent life-threatening injuries, and the other two were injured less severely. EMS transported two of the victims to Hennepin County Medical Center and the other three were transported to North Memorial Health Hospital.
The four passengers are 24, 25, 25 and 28 years old. The driver is 26 years old.
The MPD is investigating to determine if intoxication was a factor. There have been no arrests. Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence.
