April 5, 2024 (Minneapolis): Fourth-Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 800 Block of Russell Ave N at 12:12 a.m.
Officers located a man in his 20s with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds lying on the ground at the alley entrance on the 2300 block of Oak Park Av. Officers provided immediate medical care. The injured male was transported to Hennepin Healthcare (HCMC)
A second male in his 20s with life-threatening-injuries arrived at Hennepin Healthcare in a passenger vehicle. He later died at the hospital.
Officers located evidence of gunfire in the alley of the 800 block of Russel Ave N including damage to a house.
Preliminary information indicates that the shooting involved individuals known to each other.
There have been no arrests. The GO number is 24-087402.
Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Homicide detectives responded to begin an investigation.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name and the cause and manner of his death.
