March 3, 2024 (Minneapolis): Third-precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting and a ShotSpotter activation at the intersection of E. Lake St. and Bloomington Ave. at 1:02 a.m. On the sidewalk, police found an unidentified man suffering from apparent life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers took life-saving measures before being relieved by emergency medical services. The man was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by EMS where he died several hours later.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting death.
There have been no arrests. The GO number is 24-055317.
Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Homicide detectives responded to begin an investigation.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name and the cause and nature of his death.
