February 7, 2024 (Minneapolis): At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Minneapolis Police Department officers from the Second Precinct responded to a hit-and-run crash outside a gas station at 2nd Ave. SE and Hennepin Ave. E. Officers arriving at the scene found an unidentified man in the street near the entrance to the gas station. It was apparent he had been run over by a vehicle. The man was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The GO number is 24-032613.
Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Homicide detectives and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to begin an investigation.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the man’s name and the cause and nature of his death.
