January 25, 2024 (Minneapolis): At approximately 11:50 p.m., on January 24, 2024, officers from the 4th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting on 2000 Block of Washington Av N. Approximately 5 minutes later, a 47-year-old male arrived at North Memorial Medical Center with at least one potentially life-threatening gunshot wound. That male later died at the hospital.
Officers located and secured a possible scene near the 2400 Block of Washington Av N. MPD Forensic Scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.
Homicide detectives responded to begin their investigation.
Preliminary information indicates that an altercation escalated to gunfire.
There have been no arrests.
The GO number is 24-020223.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the name of the deceased along with the cause and manner of death.
