November 20, 2023 (Minneapolis) At approximately 9:27 a.m., Officers from the 3rd Precinct responded to the report of a shooting behind 1900 Chicago Ave S. Officers identified a male in his 30s with a life-threatening gunshot wound in a surface parking lot off Columbus Ave S. Officers provided immediate medical care. The injured male was transported to Hennepin Healthcare. Despite all life-saving efforts, the male died at the hospital.
Officers secured the scene and canvassed that area.
Forensic Scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Minneapolis Homicide investigators began their investigation to determine what transpired. Information available to investigators leads them to believe that this was not a random shooting.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the name of the deceased along with the cause and manner of his death.
