Dear neighbor,
On November 7, 2023, you sent me back to City Hall with nearly 79% of the vote. I'm greatly appreciative of the support. I am committed to working hard these next two years to ensure our neighbors are seen and heard.
My office will be focused on building our Legislative Department, creating community safety programs, protecting our environment, addressing housing as a human right, and improving the delivery of basic city services. I will continue to be here for Ward 9.
I also wanted to share some great news. We fought and won. For nearly a decade, our East Phillips residents have been fighting for clean air, water and soil at the former roof depot site. The City has accepted a $3.7 million guaranty as proof of payment for the purchase of the Roof Depot site from the community.
This project has been a big priority to my office. From our weekly Friday morning meetings with residents, to working with my colleagues, and putting the community first. I look forward to seeing this project come to life. The Phillips community will forever be changed.
The State Legislature will help with the last funding that is necessary to complete the community ownership.
