Minneapolis Employment and Training Outreach Ambassadors Project

As part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) the City of Minneapolis allocated $1,000,000 to Minneapolis Employment and Training for the creation of a new Minneapolis Employment and Training Outreach Ambassadors project. Two years after the initial shocks of COVID-19, many in our communities continue to struggle to find access to sustainable work, career training and advancement. This innovative, new funding opportunity mobilizes the Minneapolis workforce development system to connect directly with our City’s neighborhoods, meeting residents where they live, work and play. In May of 2022, fourteen organizations were selected to serve as Workforce Outreach Ambassadors. Their work will focus on connection to youth through violence prevention programs, and partnerships with community wellness  and housing resource providers. Ambassadors will plan and host community outreach events, engage residents in Minneapolis festivals and fairs, and invite career seekers to fully engage in culturally-informed, high-impact employment services.
