City of Lakes

Dear neighbor,

There is a lot happening at City Hall these days, so I have a long list of updates to share. We are organizing a lot of engagement opportunities in the coming weeks for several important city led initiatives. One of those is an informational session with the most recent updates regarding the Bryant Avenue South street redesign. The city is also hosting another Learning Lab on our efforts to transform public safety in our city. I highly encourage as many of you as possible to participate and help guide these very important conversations.

I also hope you all get to enjoy some time outside this weekend and take advantage of this beautiful weather. As you will see in my update below sections of Lake Harriet Parkway have been closed to vehicle traffic to give folks more space to safely enjoy our parkways now that spring is here. This is something I have been looking forward to and hope to see you out there.

Something else I have been looking forward to is the return of in-person farmers markets across the city. I’ve included some helpful information below on which ones are returning to in-person markets and what the new hours and guidelines are. I had the pleasure of attending the Fulton Farmers Market last week and was struck by how much I missed being around so many neighbors, while at the same time adjusting to being around groups of people again.

You will also see several updates on the City’s ongoing efforts around COVID-19, vaccine distribution and new programs to help those impacted by the global pandemic.

Regards,

Linea
