Governor Tim Walz and the State of Minnesota Departments of Employment and Economic Development; Health; and Labor and Industry are working together to safely allow some non-Critical Sector businesses to reopen. Please visit the State of MN DEED website today for more information. Please contact State of MN OSHA directly for a free consultation regarding reopening safely.

Non-Critical Sector industrial and office-based businesses that are non-customer facing are now allowed to reopen, and customer-facing retail businesses that sell goods are now permitted to engage in curbside or outside pick-up and delivery as long as they:

Businesses that were included on the Critical Sector list and already open prior to April 27 are also required to comply with all CDC and OSHA guidance to ensure the health and safety of their workers, but are not required to create a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. Please contact MN OSHA directly with any questions.

COVID-19 Learning Opportunities

COVID-EX(change) for Local Arts Agency Members

Americans for the Arts logo

Americans for the Arts is organizing free peer dialogues to facilitate member exchange around COVID-19 challenges and recovery strategies. These facilitated peer exchanges are a benefit exclusively for Americans for Arts members.

Video calls are geared for senior staff members who have a good overview of agency work and community needs at this time (e.g. EDs, program directors); please just one individual per organization. Calls are limited to 30 people to allow for full participation.

First up, beginning the week of May 26 are sessions for local arts agencies, aligned by population size of service area. Join fellow senior Local Arts Agencies (LLAs) leaders to share challenges, tap your network for solutions, and hear about practical ideas and actions.

The conversation will explore challenges and positive actions regarding but not limited to:

  • what LAAs are doing in the short-term and expect to do as they move into recovery;
  • how LAAs are connecting with constituents;
  • ways LAAs are working in the context of broader community recovery efforts.

LAA Leaders - Register for an exchange on ArtsU by choosing one of the two date/time (EDT) options for your population size. Please note that registration will be limited to the first 30 participants for each event, so we recommend registering promptly. Also, please only one person per organization.

To view a full list of these calls on ArtsU, please visit https://artsu.americansforthearts.org/Members.

These conversations complement Americans for the Arts’ recent field surveys and will inform their programs and services, messaging, and policy efforts. They’ll also be listening for stories and examples to share with the field regarding how cultural organizations and artists are taking effective actions that make legible the crucial role for art and artists and bolster the value proposition of supporting art and artists in policy decisions. Thank you and register now as space for each exchange is limited!
