City of Lakes

Dear Neighbor,

We’ve been working hard at the city to make sure people feel cared for during this difficult time.  While this is not city business as usual, it is also a time of opportunity. Some of the answers we are seeking are still not firm, and will take more time to unfold. This was apparent in the governor’s briefing today, about how we will work to “re-open society” in safe ways wherever possible.

I really appreciate the different ways residents are finding to stay apart but connect virtually about your needs, creative ideas, and the ways you are continuing to participate in creating good in our city.  Thank you for doing so.

I am here to be present, accountable, and of service in this moment. Your own neighborhood’s meetings have gone online and that is one easy way to see what your own neighbors have going on, and I will be there to answer questions and offer updates specific to each neighborhood. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me for questions.

In my own life, this week was adjusting to more online classwork for my 3rd grader. I am astounded by elementary teachers these days, as they are completely changing the face of education. Matthew and I are very lucky to have my parents around to help with both kids as well, allowing us to focus on work as much as possible. As someone who has always gone to the grocery store for a few things every couple days, the task of one trip for nearly two weeks of food has been an interesting experience, and cooking a welcome daily ritual.

Be safe and be well!

Linea
