Dear neighborhood and community leaders,
The NCR Department is excited to announce that the University of Minnesota's Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA) has been selected as the contractor for the final phase of Neighborhoods 2020. The City Coordinator’s Office led a competitive selection process to find a consultant and has given CURA their final approval.
CURA has experience working with many neighborhood organizations to create strategic initiatives, planning and board development. As part of their contract with the City, CURA may begin to reach out to members of the community, including neighborhoods, in the coming weeks.
On September 16, CURA will join with the NCR Department to update the City Council's Public Health, Environment, Civil Rights and Engagement Committee (PECE) on the status of this work. This update will include a revised timeline and scope of work. NCR will notify neighborhoods once the Request for Council Action, which contains NCR's presentation, is posted, so that you can review these details.
In the meantime, the mayor’s proposed 2020 budget includes funding for neighborhoods and the NCR Department at the same level as 2019. You can review the proposed budget at Minneapolismn.gov/budget/2020-budget.
