Engaging Southeast Asians through Soccer

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges (center) and participants of the 2016 Southeast Asian Soccer Engagement Program

NCR in partnership with Lao Assistance Center and the Hawthorne Neighborhood Council are excited to re-launch the Southeast Asian Soccer-Engagement Program! This program has helped establish a strong partnership between North Minneapolis neighborhood organizations and the Southeast Asian community of Cambodia, Hmong, Lao, Vietnamese and Karen residents.

A weekly gathering for the Southeast Asian community strengthens community connections and provides a networking opportunity with neighborhood organizations and city departments. Neighborhood organizations and city departments are recognized in all promotional materials, acknowledged at the events, have the opportunity to table and financially support the program.

Is your neighborhood organization or city department interested in getting involved? Read more...
