Early Mornings with Elizabeth! April 28

Early Mornings with Elizabeth: #Resist and Protect our Earth!
Friday, April 28, 7:30-9:00 am
Turtle Bread Bakery, 4762 Chicago Ave S

Please join us for an exciting program focused on people-driven activism around environment and clean energy issues. To protect our earth and continue #resisting, activists are powerfully engaging at the local and state level. Their work includes direct action and organizing, lobbying at the State Capitol, and policy work through the City of Minneapolis’ Clean Energy Partnership, bringing to the forefront the importance of lowering our impact on the environment.

We are excited to host three influential advocates.  Roxxanne W. O'Brien, local activist and 2013 Bush Fellow, will discuss her involvement in the campaign against Northern Metals and the City of Minneapolis’ Green Zones work. Joshua Houdek, Land Use and Transportation Program Manager at the Sierra Club, will talk about organizing neighbors around the transit cuts proposed by the State Legislature, a campaign that needs your support. Matt Kazinka, Sustainability Program Coordinator at the Lake Street Council, will share his experience gathering community feedback and leading outreach efforts as Co-Chair of the Clean Energy Partnership’s Energy Vision Advisory Committee (EVAC).

Join us for a great conversation around activism, clean energy and the environment. All are welcome to participate in this discussion on how community can drive change in our city and state!
